Welcome to the National Sunbeam Missionary Auxiliary

Where Little Lights Begin to Shine

Raising a Generation that is Rooted in Christ

The Sunbeam program is a Bible-based discipleship club for children from birth through 3rd grade. Founded by the Women’s Missionary Auxiliary, this 7-year program is committed to teaching young children God’s Word, the story and mission of the local church, and the global work of the Baptist Missionary Association of America.

Building Biblical Foundations for Our Youngest Disciples

Through age-appropriate Bible study and activities, Sunbeams are equipped with a strong foundation in Christian doctrine and principles. Our goal is to help children grow spiritually, live faithfully in their homes, communities, and churches, and develop a lifelong desire to know and follow God.

What makes the Sunbeam program shine?

Faith Foundations

Sunbeams are taught foundational truths of the Bible through engaging, age-appropriate lessons. The program equips children to live out their faith at home, in their community, and in the church—encouraging them to shine as lights in the world. (Matthew 5:14)

Learning God’s Way

Sunbeam lessons focus on three key areas: God’s Word, God’s Workers, and God’s Witnesses. Children grow spiritually through Bible study, missions education, music, memory work, and prayer—all supported with thoughtfully prepared teaching materials and visual aids.

Celebrating Growth

Children are celebrated for their participation and growth. From pins and sashes to stars and certificates, each award marks spiritual development and commitment. The Sunbeam program encourages consistent involvement, building confidence and a sense of accomplishment in every child.
